Menzalimi zikir dan ayat Quran

Hari ni, sambil mebeli belah bersama sister barang2 keperluan bulanan, we passed a kedai yg sedang memainkan bacaan Quran. Di kelilingnya orang memasang muzik lain dan orang bercakap-cakap. The shopkeeper himself was talking with friends and to his customers. I have a very big problem with this kezaliman yakni meletakkan sesuatu bukan pada tempatnye.

It's the same story with mosques which use their loudspeakers to broadcast Quran recitation. This is actually not allowed. You can only use the loudspeakers for the call to prayer and nothing else because you will be disturbing others in the vicinity. It is reprehensible to play casettes/cds of Quranic recitation because most people will be doing their own stuff and will not be listening, while we know that when the Quran is recited, people must not speak and must listen. Inilah adab apabila mendengar Quran!

"So, when the Qur'ân is recited, listen to it, and be silent that you may receive mercy." Quran 7:204

Just because you are in the mosque early doesn't mean you should force everyone else in the whole taman to listen to the Quran. Babies may be sleeping, people might be watching TV and doing other things which would seem as if they don't care to listen, but it's actually you who are doing something forbidden. The pophet of mercy, Muhammad SAW didn't even allow people to recite Quran loudly in the mosque lest they distrub others who are also reciting.

"Narrated AbuSa'id al-Khudri: The Apostle of Allah (peace be upon him) retired to the mosque. He heard them (the people) reciting the Qur'an in a loud voice. He removed the curtain and said: Lo! every one of you is calling his Lord quietly. One should not trouble the other and one should not raise the voice in recitation or in prayer over the voice of the other." Sunan Abu Dawud considered Sahih by Ibn Abdul Barr.

Even a big scholar of Saudi, Sh Ibn Uthaymeen, may Allah have mercy on him, forbade using the loudspeakers for Quranic recitation. See http://islamqa.info/…/using%20loudspeakers%20for%20recitati…

If this is not allowed in Saudi where the the vast majority of people are muslims, what then about our country where there are people of many faiths who have the right to peace and quiet. Even I get fed up myself when I wake up before fajr to do tahajjud and the mosque nearby is blasting its speakers with Quranic recitation, disturbing my concentration in prayer.

When people bring this issue up, the ignorant ones will quickly say, "Pembelot Islam" and spew other disgusting words. So before you open your mouth and say something sinful, take the time to study and learn lest you become a fitnah to your own faith resulting in the curse of Allah upon you. Wal'iyazubillah.
